How we started
HR SHEAROAKS GENERAL LEE JH aka "GUS"
Gus was my very first Labrador Retriever. Growing up in the country we have always had dogs but never have I had a hunting companion. I purchased Gus in February 2007 from ShearOaks Labradors, John and Barbara Shear. This was the start of a life long friendship.
We train and run both HRC and AKC licensed hunt test
Here, Gus our first Labrador Retriever waits and watches a double mark being thrown and will follow it up with a blind retrieve and a diversion bird. This was a HRC licensed hunt test in Clinton, SC where he obtained his "HR" Hunting Retriever title.
For the Love of Our Dogs
We are very much in love with our pups. Gus is now 12 years old and spends most of his day laid up inside in the cool or warm house. Our two younger labs are always out running in the yard and having a good playful time. We do not confine our pups to a kennel for any other reason other than night time or we are away from the house.
